APPLE PIE
(TWO CRUST
RECIPE)
3 ½ lb sour
apples (Granny Smith is great)
1 ½ cup sugar
(more or
less depending on sweetness of apple)
1 tsp cinnamon
3 tbs flour
2 tbs
margarine or butter
Sift
flour and cinnamon into sugar.
Cut
up apples into a large bowl.
Sprinkle
sugar mixture over apples and toss until juice starts to form on apples.
Turn
into bottom of double crust and cover with top crust.
Cut
slits into top of crust.
Baste
lightly with milk.
Sprinkle
moderately with sugar.
Bake
4250 F for 1 hour.
Reduce
to 350 and bake another 15 min.
