BUTTER  COOKIES

 

2 ½ cup flour

1 cup butter (or margarine)

¼ tsp salt

1 egg

2 tsp baking pdr

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup walnuts (blender chopped very fine like powder)

¾ cup sugar

                  

 

Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together.  (set aside)

 

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

Add vanilla to egg and beat.

Beat egg into sugar mixture.

 

Work dry ingredients into butter/sugar mixture.

 

Stir in walnuts.

 

Chill at least 1 hour.

 

Roll into logs about 2” in diameter.

Slice ¼ inch circles

 

Bake 4000 F on ungreased cookie sheet until edges start to brown.

                                                                                      (About 8 min.)

 

CAN BE ROLLED INTO LOGS, WRAPPED IN WAX PAPER, COVERED WITH FOIL, AND FROZEN UP TO 6 MONTHS.
