GINGER  BREAD

 

2 ¼  cup flour

1 cup margarine (softened)

2 tsp baking pdr

1 cup sugar

1 tsp ginger

1 egg

1 ½ tsp cinnamon

2 tbs grated orange rind

½ tsp ground cloves

1/3 cup corn syrup

 

Sift dry ingredients. (set aside)

Cream margarine and sugar.  Beat in egg.

Beat in orange rind and syrup.

Stir in dry ingredients.

 

Chill at least 1 hour.

 

Roll ¼ inch thick on HEAVILY floured board.

 

Bake 3750 F on ungreased cookie sheet.

 

Cookies--- 8-10 min.

Sheet for ginger bread house ---- 12-15 min.
