SUGAR COOKIES
1 cup butter
or margarine
4 cups + 1 tbs flour
1 cup powdered
sugar
1 tsp cream of
tartar
1 cup
granulated sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup cooking
oil
1 tsp baking
soda
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Sift
flour, salt, cream of tartar, and baking soda together and set aside.
Cream
together butter, both sugars, and oil until light.
Add
eggs and vanilla and blend well.
Add
flour mixture a little at a time mixing well between additions.
Turn
mixer to high and beat until light and fluffy.
Using
2 tsps, spoon out quarter-sized dabs of dough and drop
onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Press
each lightly with the bottom of a glass that has been dipped in sugar.
Bake
at 3750 F for 6-8 min. or until the edges turn golden brown.
